2-day intro to faceting, cold-working & HXTAL lamination class August 2-3 2025 in Fayetteville, Georgia

Atlanta has the busiest airport in the world. (Meaning tons of affordable flights). Uber to Fayetteville; stay downtown at a hotel in the historic square for $85 per night. Free shuttles provided to and from class everyday

💎Day 1
Intro to [hand] faceting
Proper grit progressions, how to grind and polish glass from rough to finish. Basic equipment overview (needs and maintenance)
Intro to saw cutting 
How to safely operate a saw to cut glass into small pieces
Intro to fully coldworked glass art 
Grinding and polishing glass by hand using a flat lap (24”) 
Intro to geometric faceting using a Prismware LapDancer geometric faceting armature. How to create symmetrically geometric items
Intro to HXTAL lamination with dichro 
Gluing Dichro and clear glass together to create kaleidoscopic artwork
How to cut and restack lamination designs
Cutting stacks to reorient and relayer dichro for multi faceted effects  
How to create coldworked designs using all techniques above 
💎Day 2
Applying designs into finished pieces
How to use your HXTAL laminated designs to make finished pieces such as marbles, prism, cubes, hanging art, and pendants
Creating a coldworked Dichro cube
Applying all techniques from both days 
Students facet their own Dichro x-cube from rough to polished finish (to keep!)
